What Is Night of 100 Stars About?

The premise of Night of 100 Stars without spoilers.

On February 19, 1982 Radio City Music Hall staged the most lavish TV taping ever. Marketed as “The Night of 100 Stars,” the live show actually featured about 230 stars before a 5,800‑person audience, many unaware they were paying for a TV recording. Seats ranged $25‑$1,000, tax‑deductible for the Actors’ Fund. Production cost $4 million; ABC paid over $5 million for rights, and the event hoped to raise $2 million for the Fund’s retirement home.
