Born on July 17, 1935, Donald McNichol Sutherland was a prominent Canadian actor whose career spanned over six decades. With a plethora of accolades, including a Primetime Emmy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and the prestigious Academy Honorary Award in 2017, Sutherland was renowned for his significant contribution to the film industry. He is often touted as one of the best actors never nominated for an Academy Award. Sutherland was also a notable anti-war activist during the Vietnam War era.

Sutherland starred in a broad range of films and television series throughout his career, earning acclaim for his performances in classics like The Dirty Dozen (1967), MAS*H (1970), Kelly's Heroes (1970), and the trending franchise The Hunger Games (2012–2015).
