Ozi: Voice of the Forest 2023

Ozi [Amandla Stenberg] is a curious female orangutan living deep in the forest, where she shares a close bond with her parents. One night, a fire sparked by humans tears her world apart and she becomes separated from her family. She is rescued by Kirani, Marissa Anita, an environmental worker who runs a foster home for orphaned primates and looks after Ozi with patience and care.

As the years pass, Ozi learns to communicate using sign language, aided by a translation device that helps her share her knowledge with others. This new ability transforms her into a unique online educator, guiding younger viewers through her forest world and teaching important lessons about wildlife and conservation. A tablet arrives in Ozi’s life, sent by a company that invites her to visit. Kirani, ever protective, denies the gift, but curiosity wins out for the young orangutan.
