Born Lau Fook-wing on September 27, 1961, Andy Lau, also known by names including Wah Zai, Lau Wah, Wah Dee, and Ngau Wah, is a renowned actor, singer-songwriter, and film producer from Hong Kong. Enrolled in TVB's actor training program in 1980, his popularity skyrocketed subsequent to performances in the TVB series The Emissary and The Return of the Condor Heroes. In his early career, Lau transitioned from TV to film, delivering remarkable performances in movies such as The Truth, Wong Kar-wai's As Tears Go By, and Benny Chan's A Moment of Romance. Over the past four decades, Lau has bagged numerous awards, including the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor three times and the Golden Horse Award for Best Leading Actor twice. He holds a Guinness World Record for the 'Most Awards Won by a Cantopop Male Artist', with 444 music awards to his credit as of 2006.

In the music industry, Lau has marked milestones with numerous hit singles and albums. Starting his musical journey with the album Just Know I Only Love You in 1985, he gained mainstream success with the 1990 album Would It Be Possible.
