Fan Chi Hung, a retired police detective, returns from the United States after learning that his former superior, Brown, has had his son kidnapped. He teams up with Brown’s adopted son, Kit, and the two dive into a series of investigations across Hong Kong to locate the child and bring them home. Their joint effort earns Brown’s gratitude, and the case also gives [Fan] a chance to reconnect with his old flame, Shirley, who still haunts the memories of his past.

Meanwhile, [Kit] forms a budding connection with Cindy, Shirley’s daughter, adding a layer of romance to a mission already fraught with danger. The plot twists when it’s revealed that Brown siphoned a substantial sum from a Japanese company, drawing the attention of the Yakuza. Enter Hoshida, a Yakuza figure who arrives in Hong Kong to uncover the truth; Hoshida is the alias of Pu, Shirley’s ex-husband from a time when he operated as a Triad member in the city.

As the truth about Brown’s past surfaces, he urges Fan to leave Hong Kong and handle negotiations in Japan. But Brown’s move proves deeply treacherous, and he betrays Fan just as the Yakuza tighten their grip. The pursuit turns brutal: the criminals target Kit and Fan, and tragedy strikes with the deaths of Kit and Cindy at the hands of the Yakuza. In the wake of these devastating events, Fan uncovers the strained, complicated bond between Hoshida and Shirley and resolves to confront the Yakuza with everything he has left, fighting to the death to defend what remains and to seek justice for those he cared about.
