The film opens in Thailand, on the side of Mount Kwan. Two men are walking across the planks, one holding a gun at the other. An earthquake causes rocks to come down, breaking the chains holding the mens’ harnesses and sending them to their deaths.

Cut to sometime after the events of the first movie. Becky Connor (Grace Caroline Currey) and Shiloh Hunter (Virginia Gardner) have become famous for their ordeal atop the TV tower when their ladder fell off, and Shiloh died trying to recover their bag. Shiloh has since been memorialized by her followers after her passing, while Becky is moving on.

Shiloh’s sister Jax (Harriet Slater) meets with a young woman named Luce (Arsema Thomas) who claims to have been friends with Shiloh. Luce has come to pick up Shiloh’s van (the one that was stolen), and they find a scrapbook of her hopes and dreams (her “fuck-it list”). One of them is walking the plank walk at Mount Kwan. Luce suggests they do it to honor Shiloh, but Jax thinks it’s not worth the risk. Jax frequently looks back at her last encounter with Shiloh, where she pranked Jax during a skydive knowing she would be terrified but doing it as a way for her to stand up for herself. Jax told her to “drop dead” and she has regretted it ever since.

Jax eventually comes around to the idea and flies with Luce to Thailand. They travel to a bar where they ask for a guide, per Shiloh’s tips and guides in her book. The ladies are directed to a man named Jon (Tom Brittney), who demands $5000 to take them up the mountain. Jax is prepared to back out, but Luce opts to cover them.

The three take the trip up the mountain, using safety harnesses to get across while walking the planks. They make it past the Devil’s Elbow part of the mountain before encountering a dangerous storm. Another earthquake causes a major rock slide, destroying the planks that go further up the mountain. Jon is lost to the ladies, so they try to walk back down, only for more rocks to come down and break the planks going that way, leaving Jax and Luce stranded on the Devil’s Elbow. Their backpack with the radio is stuck on a bar about 50 feet away from them.

In the morning, the ladies try to use Jax’s cell to call for help but are unable to reach anybody. They overhear the radio and hear Jon’s voice, having survived the rock slide but getting knocked unconscious. Luce tries to lasso the bag, but when she tries to pull it back, the hook breaks off. When it gets dark, they try to use Jon’s laser pointer to signal the people at the bar down below, but they just shut the blinds.

Jax watches a video on Shiloh’s camera, where she sees a different woman called Luce in it. When “Luce” wakes up, she reveals she is a woman named Billie who was a fan of Shiloh’s videos before her death, and how she was inspired to live her life after her cancer diagnosis. She met Jax after learning that she was selling Shiloh’s truck, and, knowing she would not sell to a fan, she just found the name “Luce” through Shiloh’s social media.

When the day comes, Billie resolves to try and reach the bag. She steps over the bars but ends up getting her arm impaled through a spike in the bars. Jax is able to throw Billie the harness for her to latch on, pulling her back to the planks.

After having a nightmare about Shiloh, Jax decides to heed her sister’s advice and face her fears. Jax is able to walk across the bars and reach the bag, radioing Jon so that he can help them climb up the mountain.

Jon radios for a helicopter to come get them. They cross a bridge, which Jax narrowly avoids falling from. However, just before they can proceed, Jax and Luce discover that the oxygen tanks that Jon provided them with earlier are actually containers to smuggle fentanyl. Jon reveals himself as a drug smuggler who uses tourists as drug mules. Billie throws her stash over the mountain, and Jon retaliates by pushing her to her death. Jax threatens to throw hers until Jon tells her that it’s the only way the rescuers in the helicopter will bring them. The two struggle for it until Jax makes it back across the bridge with the container. She latches herself onto the side before kicking the bridge and breaking it, sending Jon to his death.

Jax is rescued by the helicopter and brought back to the bar to get her stuff. She gets Billie’s phone and sends a message to Billie’s mother that she had always been afraid of sending after she stopped cancer treatments. Jax drinks to Shiloh and Billie’s memories before taking a look at Shiloh’s scrapbook again.

Becky is seen doing work at her house, when she opens her mailbox. She finds an invitation from the Hunter family to climb Hell’s Chasm to celebrate Shiloh’s life.

In the breathtaking yet perilous heights of Thailand’s Mount Kwan, a treacherous climb becomes a desperate bid for survival. Two women — Jax, carrying the heavy burden of grief after losing her sister, and Luce, drawn to the late adventurer’s fearless legacy — attempt to fulfill a dream left behind in a scrapbook of ambitions.

To navigate the mountain’s notorious plank walks and sheer cliff faces, they enlist the help of a local guide, trading the safety of the lowlands for vertigo-inducing exposure. The expedition is more than a physical challenge for Jax; it’s a chance to honor her sister’s memory and confront the guilt of their final, bitter exchange.

As they ascend into the mountain’s most unforgiving stretches, the journey takes a harrowing turn. The treacherous terrain leaves them stranded thousands of feet above the ground, cut off from the path below. With the elements turning hostile and rescue seemingly impossible, every breath becomes a battle against the crushing altitude and the relentless drop beneath their feet.

Now fighting for their lives on a precarious ledge, the women must rely on their wits and each other to endure the impossible odds. The thin air and dizzying heights become constant adversaries, forcing Jax to find the same courage that defined her sister — a spirit that may be the only thing keeping them from succumbing to the mountain.
