In 1959, Yau Ma Tei’s policing world is jolted when a foreign detective retires, igniting a fierce contest for the top seat between Lee Rock Andy Lau and Ngan Tung Paul Chun Pui. Facing mounting threats to his livelihood, Lee Rock plans to move his vast assets to Canada, hoping to escape the tightening net with his wife Grace Pak Sharla Cheung Man and their daughter. He also contemplates making Rose Chingmy Yau Suk-Ching his second wife; during a family reunion, he learns she has given birth to his son, Bill Aaron Kwok. A polygamy ban eventually passes in Hong Kong, pushing Rose to leave with Bill and settle in Australia rather than becoming the third party in Lee Rock’s life.
