Tracey Walter, born on November 25, 1947, is a retired American character actor who has left a remarkable imprint on the film and television industry. Growing up in Jersey City, New Jersey as the son of a truck driver, he began building his acting career in 1971. Walter has showcased his talent in more than 170 films and television series. He is particularly renowned for his portrayals of sidekick and henchmen characters, take for instance, his roles as Bob the Goon in Batman, Cookie in City Slickers, and Malak in Conan the Destroyer. Turner also played a notable character, Frog Rothchild Jr. on the ABC sitcom Best of the West from 1981 to 1982. Besides these, his collaboration with Jonathan Demme for six films such as Something Wild and The Silence of the Lambs, with Danny DeVito for three films including Matilda and Duplex, and with Jack Nicholson for nine films beginning with Goin' South warrants a special mention. He has also worked with Clint Eastwood in the 1982 film Honkytonk Man. Known for his unique dialogues, Tracey coined phrases in films like Honkytonk Man and Raggedy Man. His critically acclaimed role of the philosopher mechanic, Miller, in Alex Cox's Repo Man earned him a Saturn Award in 1985 for Best Supporting Actor. He proved his versatility through television guest appearances on shows like WKRP in Cincinnati, Taxi, and Hill Street Blues, among others.
