Spoilers ahead
Lyle Swann is a celebrated dirt-bike racer who pushes the limits in the brutal Baja 1000, a cross-country race that tests every edge of speed and durability. Swann’s hunger for victory is matched by a knack for engineering, as he outfits his C and J framed XT500 Yamaha with high-tech gadgetry that promises an edge, even as it tugs him toward persistent mechanical trouble. When a miscalibrated sprint through the dunes sends him far off course, fate takes an unexpected turn: he stumbles upon a time travel experiment that riffs on a concept called “maser velocity acceleration,” a process designed to fling objects across time.
