Richard Bruce Kind, born November 22, 1956, is an acclaimed American actor and comedian known for his nuanced performances in both television and film. His acting history ranges from roles in sitcoms Mad About You (1992–1999, 2019) and Spin City (1996–2002), to more dramatic works such as Stargate Atlantis (2006), Curb Your Enthusiasm (2002–2021), and East New York (2022–2023). He was also featured in films such as Johns (1996), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), A Serious Man (2009), The Angriest Man in Brooklyn (2014), and Tick, Tick... Boom! (2021). Fans of Pixar may also recognize his voice from A Bug's Life, Cars, Toy Story 3, and Inside Out. His smorgasbord of roles and talents in voice acting contributed to his nomination for a Tony Award in 2013 for his work in The Big Knife.

Richard Kind was born in Trenton, the capital of New Jersey, and grew up in Yardley, Pennsylvania. He attended Northwestern University, becoming an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and later working with Chicago's Second City. He played roles in popular TV shows such as Scrubs, Two and a Half Men, Psych, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He also has a history of work in theater, a platform he used to create the role of Addison Mizner in Stephen Sondheim's Bounce.
