What Is Quicksand About?

Martin Raikes, an American bank investigator, is sent to Monaco to scrutinize the suspicious finances behind a movie production, before planning a trip to London to visit his daughter. The assignment opens with a tense blend of corporate scrutiny and personal duty, setting a controlled pace for a drama that throbs with doubt and danger.
Upon arrival, the film company’s CFO, Lela Forin, introduces him to the movie’s supposed leading man, the washed-up action star Jake Mellows. From the outset, Martin senses that something in the production doesn’t add up, a gnawing feeling that grows as invoices don’t align and the financial trail grows murkier. The sense of foreboding is palpable, a quiet fear that the project’s gloss masks something far more sinister beneath the surface.
