Santa Claus [George Wendt] and his loyal, all-white Great Pyrenees, Santa Paws [Tom Bosley], step outside to inspect the magical Christmas Icicle, a shimmering symbol of the season that is melting because faith in Christmas has waned. Puppy Paws, eager but naïve, proves to be a lively nuisance in the Buddies’ household: Budderball is unjustly blamed for shortbread cookie mischief; B-Dawg is challenged in a breakdancing contest by the North Pole visitor; Mudbud’s dirt-dusting lessons create accidental holiday shapes that mislead the others; and the group’s usual Christmas routine gets turned on its head as their sense of order collapses.
