Born as Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967, but known professionally as Jamie Foxx, he is a notable American actor, singer, and comedian. Foxx gained his career breakthrough as a featured player in the sketch comedy show In Living Color until the show's end in 1994. He was then given his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, which he starred, co-created, and produced between 1996 and 2001. In 2004, Foxx received widespread acclamation for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the film Ray, a role that earned him prestigious awards such as the Academy Award, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Simultaneously that year, he got a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting actor for his role in the crime film, Collateral. Foxx also had outstanding performances in notable films like Django Unchained(2012), and Baby Driver(2017). In addition, he made a name for himself in the music world with success in R&B, earning two number one singles in the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
