Ernest Borgnine

Ernest Borgnine, born Ermes Effron Borgnino, was an iconic American actor whose career spanned over six decades. Noted for his gruff yet relaxed voice, Borgnine made the transition from supporting roles to unconventional leads in numerous films. His breakthrough arrived in 1955 when he played a lovable butcher in 'Marty', winning the Academy Award for the Best Actor. Borgnine also showcased his versatility through his appearances in the sitcom 'McHale's Navy' and in the action series 'Airwolf'.
