Robert Wallace Forster Jr. (July 13, 1941 – October 11, 2019), professionally known as Robert Forster, had his on-screen debut as Private L.G. Williams in John Huston's Reflections in a Golden Eye(1967). He was born in Rochester, New York. His mother was Italian-American and his father was of English and Irish descent. Forster was determined to be an actor after performing in numerous college plays. Forster was active in the film industry for over five decades, from 1967 to 2019. He made significant contributions to the film industry, played a variety of both leading and supporting roles in over 100 films. Some of his notable films include The Black Hole (1979), The Delta Force (1986), Me, Myself & Irene (2000), The Descendants (2011), and What They Had (2018). His career was revitalized by his role in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown (1997), for which he was nominated for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Forster also had prominent roles in television series. His first lead in TV series was in Nakia (1974), followed by performances in Karen Sisco (2003–04), Heroes (2007–08), the third season of Twin Peaks (2017). Robert Forster was also known for portraying Ed 'The Disappearer' Galbraith in the critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad, earning him the Saturn Award for Best Guest Starring Role on Television. Apart from his career as an actor, Forster was also a motivational speaker. After being diagnosed with a brain tumor in June 2019, he died in Los Angeles on October 11, 2019, at the age of 78.
