Born as Mary Laurence Hutton on November 17, 1943, Lauren Hutton is a distinguished American model and actress. Raised in the southern United States, she relocated to New York City in her early adulthood to venture into a modelling career. Initially overlooked due to a distinctive gap in her teeth, Hutton secured a modelling contract with Revlon in 1973, marking a significant event in the history of the modelling industry. Throughout her career, Hutton has made her mark both as a model and as an actress. Making her acting debut with the sports drama Paper Lion in 1968, Hutton also played pivotal roles in notable films such as The Gambler (1974) and American Gigolo (1980), further enhancing her reputation with television appearances in series like Paper Dolls, Falcon Crest, Central Park West and Nip/Tuck. She continues to model into her seventies and has featured in abundant advertising campaigns for brands like H&M, Lord and Taylor, and Alexander Wang, besides walking the runway for designers like Tom Ford and Bottega Veneta. Also a scuba advocate and recognized conservationist, Hutton was inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame in 2007, championing marine conservation and particularly, preservation of sharks.
