Spoilers ahead
Halsy Knox is a veteran dirt bike racer known for a carefree, fearless approach to life on the track. After a race near Phoenix, Little Fauss, an ambitious amateur, crosses paths with him and the two form an uneasy bond. Fauss is drawn to Halsy’s freewheeling lifestyle, while Halsy seems to recognize in Fauss a kindred hunger to ride beyond limits. This budding friendship is shadowed by the skepticism of Fauss’s family, especially his father, Seally Fauss, who views Halsy as a dangerous influence and refuses to help when Halsy’s truck breaks down. The tension between admiration and disapproval starts to shape the choices available to both riders.
