Imogen Gay Poots (born 3 June 1989) is an acclaimed English actress. Her acting journey began in 2004 and she has since made a significant impact in both the British and American film industry. She is best known for her roles in the post-apocalyptic horror film 28 Weeks Later, the Jimi Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is by My Side, the Paul Raymond biopic The Look of Love, and the American action film Need for Speed. Since her breakthrough role in 28 Weeks Later, Poots has featured alongside big names in Hollywood such as Pierce Brosnan, Aaron Paul, and Jesse Eisenberg.

Born in Hammersmith, London, Poots was raised in Chiswick, West London. While initially seeking a career in veterinary surgery, she moved towards acting after an experience at an improvisation workshop. Her acting journey began with an episode of 'Casualty' in 2004 and a role in 'V for Vendetta' in 2006. Despite never having formal acting training, she developed her skills through a practical apprenticeship. Poots further participated in high profile campaigns for fashion houses like Chloé and Marni, demonstrating her versatility.
