Dulquer Salmaan (born 28 July 1983 in Kochi, Kerala, India) is an Indian actor, singer, and producer who has become one of the most influential figures in contemporary South Indian cinema. The son of legendary Malayalam star Mammootty, Dulquer completed his schooling at Toc‑H Public School in Kochi and Sishya School in Chennai before earning a bachelor's degree in Business Management from Purdue University in the United States. After a brief stint as a business manager in Dubai, he abandoned the corporate world to pursue his passion for acting, undertaking a three‑month intensive course at Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai. His screen debut came with Second Show (2012), followed by a breakthrough performance in Ustad Hotel the same year, which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South and introduced him as a versatile talent capable of handling both commercial and critically‑oriented roles.
