Timothy Francis Robbins was born on October 16, 1958. He is an acclaimed American actor known for iconic roles such as Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption, Jacob Singer in Jacob's Ladder, and garnered an Academy Award and Golden Globe for his work in Mystic River. Robbins is also recognized for his roles in Top Gun, Bull Durham, Erik the Viking, I.Q., Nothing to Lose, and Green Lantern. His prowess extends to directing with his successful films Bob Roberts and Dead Man Walking for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.
