Morgan Freeman is an acclaimed American actor, producer, and narrator highly regarded as one of the greatest actors of all time. Born June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, Freeman began his acting career in school plays before studying theater arts in Los Angeles. Despite his initial rise to fame in the 70s on the children's television series 'The Electric Company,' Freeman would solidify his acting prowess on the stage with performances in Shakespearean plays 'Coriolanus' and 'Julius Caesar,' receiving the Obie Award for the former. His Tony Award nomination came in 1978 when he played Zeke in the Richard Wesley play 'The Mighty Gents.' Throughout his career, Freeman received numerous accolades for his range of roles, including an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, the Cecil B.
