Guy Stuart Ritchie (born 10 September 1968) is an accomplished English film director, producer, and screenwriter. Ritchie's career path can be traced back to his early teenage years when he left school to find entry-level jobs in the film field. Eventually transitioning into directing television commercials, Ritchie made his initial mark by directing the infamous short film 'The Hard Case' in 1995. He hit the spotlight when he directed 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' in 1998, his feature-length directorial debut. His second film, 'Snatch' in 2000, garnered both critical and commercial acclaim. His various films include 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' (2015), 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword' (2017), and 'Aladdin' (2019), Disney's live-action adaptation that grossed over $1 billion worldwide. His most recent notorious addition to the crime comedy genre would be 'The Gentlemen (2019)', followed by a sequence of action films alongside Jason Statham.

In spite of his versatile career, Ritchie's personal life has been equally diverse and eventful. Ritchie was born in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, with parents Amber (née Parkinson) and Captain John Vivian Ritchie. He dealt with dyslexia and was expelled from school at the tender age of 15. Ritchie also experienced the complications of his parents' divorce and their subsequent remarriages. His directing style often incorporates memorable characters, fragmented dialogue, and a representation of the British class system. Ritchie practices Shotokan karate, Judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and he reports to be capable of speaking Hebrew.
