Mark Alan Ruffalo, born on November 22, 1967, is a highly acclaimed American actor. The Kenosha, Wisconsin-native began acting in the early 1990s and quickly established a name for himself in Kenneth Lonergan's play 'This Is Our Youth' and drama film 'You Can Count on Me.' Mark's career remarkably expanded as he starred in romantic comedies 13 Going on 30 and thrillers like In the Cut and Zodiac. His stellar performance in Broadway revival of 'Awake and Sing!' fetched him a Tony Award nomination. However, it was his portrayal of Bruce Banner / Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that made him internationally recognized. Mark's notable performances in 'The Kids Are All Right', 'Foxcatcher', 'Spotlight', and 'Poor Things' each earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Besides his acting prowess, he secured prestigious awards for 'The Normal Heart' and 'I Know This Much Is True'. Mark's life off-stage was filled with personal trials and victories. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which resulted in partial facial paralysis and deafness in the left ear. Mark is a dedicated activist engaging in various social and environmental causes.
