He has made significant contributions to the world of comedy, known for his energetic comedic style, and stands out for the unforgettable characters he created such as Jiminy Glick and Ed Grimley. Short has showcased his talent in a myriad of films and television shows, and has been recognized for his work with several awards including two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award. Over the years, Short has extended his impressive range, featuring in Broadway productions including Neil Simon's musicals The Goodbye Girl (1993) and Little Me (1998–1999).
