Elliott Gould, born as Elliott Goldstein on August 29, 1938, is a celebrated American actor with distinct credits in film and television. His break into stardom was the 1969 film Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He continued to impress the film industry with great performances in MAS*H (1970), The Long Goodbye (1973), and California Split (1974). Other significant roles include Little Murders (1971), A Bridge Too Far (1977), American History X (1998) and the Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean's series. In addition to his film work, he is known for his television presence, notably as a host on SNL and his recurring role as Jack Geller on Friends. He further featured in series like Mulaney and Ray Donovan. Apart from acting, Gould ventured into Broadway in late 1950s, debuting in Rumple (1957) and continued with minor roles in Say, Darling, and Irma La Douce. His production initiatives include Bruce Jay Friedman's The Dick, Bernard Malamud's The Assistant, and Little Murders, though The Dick and The Assistant were never made.
