Christian Charles Philip Bale, born on 30 January 1974, is an esteemed English actor. Acclaimed for his transformative performances and versatility, he is a leading man across several film genres. Bale's breakthrough role came at 13 in Steven Spielberg's war film Empire of the Sun. His powerful portrayal of Patrick Bateman, a serial killer in the black comedy American Psycho (2000), and another remarkable performance in the psychological thriller The Machinist (2004), earned him well-deserved recognition. His role as the superhero Batman in the Dark Knight Trilogy only amplified his acclaim. Along with these, Bale has acted in a range of films including The Prestige, Terminator Salvation, Public Enemies, Exodus: Gods and Kings, and Thor: Love and Thunder.
