Bonnie Bedelia, born as Bonnie Bedelia Culkin on March 25, 1948, is an esteemed American actress. She kickstarted her career in the theatre during the 1960s before starring in the CBS daytime soap opera Love of Life. She made her film debut in The Gypsy Moths, and later made appearances in numerous films such as They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, Lovers and Other Strangers, Heart Like a Wheel, The Prince of Pennsylvania, Die Hard, Presumed Innocent, Sordid Lives, and Needful Things. Besides her impressive run in the film industry, Bedelia has also marked her presence on television. She earned two Emmy Awards nominations for her outstanding television work. From 2001 to 2004, Bedelia played the lead role in the Lifetime television drama series, The Division. Later, she starred as the family matriarch, Camille Braverman, in the NBC family drama series Parenthood from 2010 to 2015.

Bedelia was born in New York City during a challenging financial period for her family. She faced several adversities early on, including losing her mother at age 14 and her father suffering from ulcers. Despite these hardships, Bedelia pursued her passion for dance at the School of American Ballet and later trained in acting at HB Studio. She gradually built her career, starting with ballet and theatre before moving on to feature in films and television series. She made her onscreen dancing debut as Clara in the Playhouse 90 television production of the George Balanchine Nutcracker in 1958. Bedelia also worked on Broadway, where she made a noticeable debut supporting Patty Duke in 1962, Isle of Children, and won a Theatre World Award for playing the lead in My Sweet Charlie in 1966. She continues to be an active and celebrated figure in the industry.
