In Hyderabad, Satthi Babu, a small-time thief, teams up with his uncle Duvva Abbulu for a life of petty crime. They drift into a wedding in Devgarh, Madhya Pradesh, where they set their sights on Neeraja Goswami, attending as a guest. Satthi Babu flirts and even pins her waist, a move she pretends to dislike, while he confesses his life of crime and promises to walk away from robbery. Yet he plans one last, massive step to stack up wealth before he quits for good.
At a bustling railway station, Satthi Babu and Abbulu deceive a trusting woman and flee with a trunk she has given them. A police official, Mahanthi, investigates the trunk and discovers Neha, a young girl who believes Satthi Babu is her father. The sight of a portrait that seems to link Satthi Babu to Neha convinces Mahanthi to insist that he take responsibility for the child and keep watch over their evolving situation.
Satthi Babu initially resists, but he cannot ignore Neha’s need for care. Over time, he grows attached to her, even as Neeraja and her parents overhear Neha calling Satthi Babu “father.” Believing Satthi Babu is deceiving her, Neeraja ends their relationship and leaves.
A gang attack targets Satthi Babu and Neha, misreading Satthi Babu as Vikram Singh Rathore IPS, Neha’s father and Satthi Babu’s doppelgänger. Mahanthi, Sub-inspector Razia, and a few officers rush to help but are overwhelmed. Vikram himself arrives to shield his daughter and Satthi Babu, killing the attackers but sustaining a severe head injury. In the hospital, doctors declare Vikram dead, and the truth about his fate is kept from Neha to protect her.
In a flashback, Vikram’s posting in Devgarh unfolds: he moves there with Neha, his motherless daughter, and teams up with Mahanthi and Razia to challenge the cruel reign of MLA Bavuji, a corrupt power who runs the region. Vikram attempts to rescue Munna’s mother, and Munna is arrested; the Home Minister and political pressure complicate matters. Munna is declared mentally unstable and released; during a Holi party, he humiliate a police officer, but Vikram uses a bold move that leads to Munna’s downfall and control.
On Holi, Titla, Bavuji’s brother, stabs Vikram and shoots him as he tries to protect a trapped child. Vikram is believed dead, but he survives with a brain injury. The villagers conceal his survival, and he is moved to Hyderabad for treatment. To shield Neha from knowledge of her father’s condition, the police direct her to Satthi Babu.
Back in the present, Vikram’s death is officially confirmed, but Neha remains unaware. Satthi Babu returns to Devgarh, posing as Vikram to seek vengeance and strike at Bavuji. Abbulu and others reveal the truth to Neeraja, who apologizes and agrees to raise Neha with Satthi Babu.
Satthi Babu launches a direct challenge to Bavuji: he sets fire to Bavuji’s wine factory and rallies the villagers to raid his food stores. Satthi Babu defeats Bavuji’s men, and Titla abducts Neha and Neeraja; Satthi Babu confronts Titla and hangs him to death. With vengeance fulfilled, Satthi Babu, Neeraja, Neha, and Abbulu set out for a new life together.
