1982: Gandikota, Rayalaseema, is torn by a long, bitter feud between two families. On one side stands Ramineedu and his two teenage sons, Mallasuri and Baireddy. On the other side is Kovelamudi Raghava, who has an infant son. In a violent clash, [Kovelamudi Raghava] assassinates [Ramineedu’s brother] and then dies from his wounds, while his wife escapes with the infant and raises him far from the feud. [Ramineedu] and his sons swear vengeance and vow not to spare anyone from [Kovelamudi Raghava]’s clan, setting a grim seed of retribution that will echo through years.

Fast forward to 2010. An orphaned Ramu loses his job and struggles to make ends meet, hoping to buy an autorickshaw to earn a living but failing to finance it on his own. He receives a legal notice about five acres of land he has inherited in Gandikota and travels by train to the village, intending to sell the land to get by. There, he befriends his fellow passenger, Aparna, who introduces him to her father, Ramineedu. The elder man pledges to help him sell the land, unaware that [Ramu] is the son of [Kovelamudi Raghava], the rival clan’s former leader.

Ramu is taken in and sheltered at [Ramineedu]’s home, but trouble brews when Mallasuri recognizes him and informs [Ramineedu] and Baireddy. The tradition of not spilling blood inside the house buys Ramu time, but the threat is far from over. To keep him contained, Ramineedu and his sons scheme to coax him out, hoping the violence will resume once he steps outside. Meanwhile, Srikanth, Aparna’s cross-cousin and a doctor who is expected to marry her, pretends to diagnose Ramu as needing rest, and he quietly suspects that Ramu may have fallen in love with Aparna and wants to stay where he is safe.

As the death anniversary of Ramineedu’s brother arrives, relatives flood the house, complicating any plan for escape. Ramu crafts a clever ruse: he agrees to let Srikanth marry Aparna and persuades Srikanth’s father to arrange the wedding for the very next day, hoping the relatives will stay longer and give him more time to devise a way out. Aparna, moved by the story Ramu shares about her, grows closer and feels that no one knows her as well as he does. Yet Ramu’s selflessness also makes her believe he may have deeper feelings for her, which she attempts to coax out as the wedding preparations proceed.

To lure Ramu out, Ramineedu arranges an engagement ceremony at the temple. Aparna devises a plan to help him escape and suggests that they hide in one of the flower baskets being carried for a vow at the temple, meeting at the mosque afterward so she can guide him out of the village. But before the escape can unfold, Mallasuri grows impatient and drags Ramu toward the penthouse with the intention of killing him without alerting her father or [Baireddy]. Ramu manages to lock Mallasuri in the penthouse and hides in a flower basket that is seen by [Baireddy], who plans to kill him during the temple procession but later realizes Ramu is not in the basket and remains inside while Mallasuri frees herself.

With the chase resumed, Ramu prepares to flee the village, but Mallasuri and Baireddy pursue him relentlessly. Aparna reveals to Srikanth that she loves Ramu; Srikanth understands her feelings and informs [Ramineedu], who still refuses to accept the match and heads out to kill Ramu. Aparna, unwilling to lose him, races to meet Ramu, and he learns of her devotion too. Yet when Ramineedu and his sons close in, Aparna steps forward and declares that she is the one who loves Ramu, insisting that he does not share her feelings. The moment of truth arrives: Ramu, realizing the depth of Aparna’s love, surrenders himself to [Ramineedu] and his sons, who beat him brutally.

Desperate to protect her beloved, Aparna leaps from a bridge into the river, and Ramu dives after her to rescue her. This act of courage forces [Ramineedu] and his sons to confront the consequences of their vendetta. Seeing that no one cares for Aparna the way Ramu does, the elder urges a reconsideration of the feud and finally relinquishes his plan for revenge, choosing instead to seek unity and allow the two lovers to be together. The tale closes on a note that forgiveness and love can outpace decades of bloodshed, as the two families begin to reckon with the past and envision a future beyond violence.
