He initially seeks permission to open an insecticide factory in London, but the plan is blocked because the key compound MIC is deemed too toxic. Undeterred, he leverages local political influence to push through a factory in Tamil Nadu, quietly building a lucrative export business that thrives for a time as long as the inflow of orders stays strong—until international pressure mounts and the UN bans MIC, sending his export numbers into a sharp decline. This setback forces Raj Prakash to reassess his bets and rethink where his fortunes will come from.

With returns dwindling, he pivots to another prospect, eyeing a copper Sterlite factory after learning about heavy metal concentrations in the area. Yet public resistance from the locals becomes a significant obstacle, and he withdraws that plan, choosing to double down on the insecticide operation instead. In the town, three friends—Lenin Vijay [Vijay Kumar], Saravanan, and Pazhanisamy—secure jobs in the factory thanks to a strong recommendation, stepping into the world Raj Prakash manages and profits from.

Lenin Vijay [Vijay Kumar] soon finds himself drawn to Isai Vani [Vismaya], a medical doctor working in the same facility. Their budding romance unfolds against a backdrop of increasing tension and fear, because on their very first day a neighbor, Seenu, who works in one of the factory’s units, is admitted to the hospital after sustaining severe burns. He dies there, with the death initially ruled as an accident, a grim hint of the perils lurking inside the plant. The factory’s safety record is already fragile; a routine audit later reveals serious issues: MIC storage tanks are improperly maintained and stored at temperatures higher than normal, signaling a looming catastrophe.

Raj Prakash tries to shield his operation from scrutiny by bribing the auditor, suggesting that profits—and not safety—should drive his decisions. He also makes the acquaintance of Sengai Kumar, a lower-caste politician who uses elections as a stage to sway voters through means that hint at bribery and manipulation. The situation takes a tragic turn when poor maintenance leads to a catastrophic splash of MIC on Saravanan and three other workers; they succumb to their injuries, shattering the lives of their friends and families.

The deaths become a spark for protest. Sengai leverages the tragedy to push a movement to shut the factory down, a campaign that Raj Prakash secretly funds to generate local sympathy and political leverage. As the people rally, Isai Vani reveals a chilling detail to Lenin Vijay: the deaths were caused by MIC exposure. Seenu’s death is further explained by a disturbing link—his polyurethane prosthetic leg, manufactured in the same factory, ignites and produces MIC, helping seal his fate along with the others. The factory is temporarily closed, yet Sengai’s influence helps reopen it, and without upgrading its aging, dangerous infrastructure.

Vijay and Pazhanisamy press the authorities for accountability, but they are dismissed or dismissed with hostility. The situation grows more dire when the storage tanks threaten to implode. Vijay attempts to reach the factory manager for countermeasures and information on an antidote, only to be brushed off. He then turns to Isai Vani, who mobilizes medications at the local hospital, while the townspeople pull loved ones away to safety. Yet even as the town should be rallying to protect itself, the danger escalates.

The tanks finally burst, releasing a toxic MIC plume into the air. The resulting gas kills the remaining residents, including Vijay’s parents, a blow that shatters him emotionally. He is arrested on charges of diluting the MIC tank by adding water—a charge that Raj Prakash weaponizes against him. After three months in detention, Vijay is bailed out and he and Pazhanisamy redouble their efforts to expose the conspiracy.

From that point forward, the pair use media to educate the people about the collusion between politicians and industrialists, and they explain the real dangers of the chemicals used in the factory. The locals increasingly distrust the factory’s leadership and the politicians who enable them. In a climactic confrontation, Vijay and his allies confront the factory manager, Raj Prakash, and Sengai, laying bare the rot at the heart of the operation. In a final, righteous act, they take justice into their own hands, killing those who traded human lives for profit and leaving the community to rebuild with a clearer sense of safety and accountability.
