Set during the American Civil War, this brisk comedy short follows three Northern soldiers—Larry Fine, Moe Howard, and Curly Howard—designated as Operators 12, 14, and 15, who are sent on a covert mission behind enemy lines. Their assignment is to assume the identities of Southern officers, adopting the aliases Lieutenant Duck, Captain Dodge, and Major Hyde, respectively, as they work to infiltrate the mansion of Confederate Colonel Buttz.
