Uncivil War Birds 1946

Set against the Civil War backdrop, the Moe and Larry find themselves in the Union Army, while Curly winds up fighting for the Confederacy. What starts as a clash of loyalties quickly devolves into a tangle of mistaken identities: each side mistakes the others for prisoners, setting off a cascade of comic mix-ups that send the trio running from one misadventure to another.

To shake pursuit, Moe and Larry slip into Confederate uniforms, only to stumble straight into Union army headquarters. The sequence becomes a wild chase through tents and trenches as guards misread signals and orders, turning a simple escape into a maze of slapstick reversals.

Desperation leads them to stage a minstrel show, performing in blackface disguises as part of their improvised act. The ruse is chaotic but effective enough to slip past watchers, turning the battlefield into a makeshift stage where jokes land as frequently as misfires, and every new bit of deception reshapes the chase.

Ultimately, the Stooges’ saga threads toward marriage, with each of them wed to his bride. The wedding joy, however, is short-lived: after their first kiss, the brides retaliate with surprising bursts of physical humor when the trio accidentally spill their drinks behind their new wives’ backs.
