Spoilers ahead
Inside a Manhattan teaching hospital, a crisis spirals from the top down. The Chief of Medicine, Dr. Bock, has abandoned his family and watched the institution he leads slide from a place of purpose into a fractured, high-pressure maze. The hospital’s once-vital function is murky at best: a string of sudden deaths—two doctors and a nurse—during treatment that is blamed on a series of coincidences or unavoidable errors rather than systemic failings. Administrators worry that every misstep could become a public-relations disaster, threatening not only patient trust but the hospital’s future.
