The Girl from Leningrad (1941): Cast & Plot

Natasha Matveeva, Zoya Fyodorova, is a confident and determined young woman who chooses to join a frontline Red Cross team so that she can be near her fiancé, Lieutenant Sergei Korovin. In a city buzzing with wartime urgency, a crowd of volunteers gathers, all eager to do their part. They travel toward the front, where the hospital is not yet ready to receive patients. The group must roll up their sleeves and face the reality that the building is neglected, the water supply must be secured, and sleeping quarters must be carved out of thin air. The team learns quickly that the work will be grueling and the conditions far from ideal, but their resolve remains steady as they prepare to welcome the injured.
