Howard F. Howard [Josh Mostel] is a devoted fan of the Three Stooges and enjoys a seemingly stable life with Beverly [Melanie Chartoff]. When a strange affliction makes him see the Stooges everywhere, he seeks help from a renowned Stooge psychologist, Sid Caesar. However, his illness is part of a nationwide epidemic, and the doctor gives him the wrong medicine: a sleeping pill. ” To address the crisis, a sanitarium called Stooge Hills is created. Inside an all-Stooge burlesque house, members of Stooge Hills (including James Avery as Gulch) commit everyone in there to the sanitarium. Through a rigorous program, the patients are deemed cured.
