Moe Howard and Larry Fine find themselves at a sanatorium where their friend Shemp Howard is undergoing treatment for hallucinations. He insists on bidding farewell to his fiancée, Nurse Nora Pamela Britton, before his premature discharge, but the staff’s evaluation makes it clear that his condition still requires care and ongoing therapy.

Emil Sitka plays Dr. Gesundheit, whose impaired vision complicates his attempts to help Shemp, even as he prescribes medication. Despite the doctor’s efforts, Shemp resists, leaving Moe and Larry to navigate a fragile balance between care and comedy as the situation grows tenser.

During a piano lesson, Shemp’s grip on reality slips again as he experiences vivid hallucinations, intensifying his fixation on Nora and deepening the trio’s sense that his mental state remains unsettled.

On their way to see the doctor, the Stooges get caught up in a chaotic phone-booth brawl with a stranger. The scuffle erupts into a spray of groceries and a toppled booth, and the trio barely escapes amid the confusion.

Back at home, Nora waits for her father—the man from the earlier clash—Nora’s Father who coincidentally happens to be the aggressor in that confrontation. In a tense moment meant to set them free, the Stooges stumble and knock themselves unconscious, mistaking a window silhouette for an exit. The tension spikes as Nora, Babe London, asserts her claim on Shemp, and he leaves with her, signaling a bittersweet turn in the evening’s tangled events.
