
After years travelling to cement his fame as Japan’s greatest swordsman, Takezo returns to Kyoto. His lover Otsu awaits, but he arrives to challenge the head of the premier fencing school, walking into the disciples’ ambushes, while Akemi seeks him. Sasaki Kojiro observes, believing he can surpass Takezo. He declares love for Otsu, shames her, and goes.
