Ritesh is a popular film star living a lavish life with his wife Pooja and their seven-year-old Romi. After a string of unexpected box office failures and huge losses, the family’s wealth collapses. They sell off their personal belongings, and the stress of the downslide drives Ritesh into alcoholism. Pooja, determined to keep the family afloat, takes on multiple jobs, while Romi becomes a quiet observer of the constant disputes at home.

Tensions in the household mount as money worries and failing prospects erode their once-harmonious life, leaving Romi to watch the strife without saying much. Then a devastating incident changes the course of their days: in the hotel where Pooja works as a chambermaid, she is molested by a hoodlum; a stranger Alok intervenes, saving her and offering her a job in his firm, which irritates Ritesh, who wishes she would stay at home. He confronts her, asking for a choice between her work and their family and home.

She chooses independence, and leaves. The family fractures as custody battles begin, with Ritesh winning Romi’s custody. Yet relief is short-lived when he discovers that Romi is going to die from brain cancer, a revelation that casts a pall over every plan for the child’s future.

In a profound turn of necessity, Ritesh and Pooja decide to reunite to protect their son’s happiness, setting aside past grievances to fulfill Romi’s wishes and savor the precious time left. Thrown together under the shadow of their child’s impending death, they begin to rediscover themselves and each other, finding a new understanding and a fragile, renewed sense of hope amid heartbreak.
