Subru, Maniyanpilla Raju, an innocent bank employee, is head over heels for Rohini yet fears voicing his feelings. His grandmother presses on him to live as a celibate Brahmachari and to join the nearby temple as a priest. Rohini, meanwhile, works as a dancer and artist with the Keerikkad ballet troupe steered by Keerikkad Chellappan Pillai, [Nedumudi Venu]. Subru decides to join the troupe after taking advice from Sankaran Pillai, [Jagathy Sreekumar], Chellappan Nair’s assistant, hoping to win Rohini’s heart.

Rohini is drawn to Subru’s simple, honest demeanor, and she begins to fall for him. One day, when Rohini misses her bus, she borrows a lift from a car driver and ends up at the ballet troupe’s office, unaware that the car belongs to Suresh Menon, [Shankar], a wealthy local business tycoon. The coincidence leads Sankaran Pillai and Chellappan Nair to misread Rohini’s feelings and presume she is in love with Suresh Menon, stirring trouble.

To placate Suresh Menon and secure his investment in the troupe, Chellappan offers Rohini the lead role and raises her pay. Meanwhile, Subru faces professional setbacks: he is suspended from the bank for prolonged absence, and later Chellappan Nair ejects him from the troupe for underperforming. The tension between love and ambition intensifies as Rohini’s affections become entangled with the financial interests of the troupe.

When Suresh Menon learns of Rohini’s claims of being in love with him, he unexpectedly appears before her. Not realizing that he is the very man Rohini has in mind, she seeks his help to disentangle the mess at the troupe. In a turn of events, the true Suresh Menon steps in, addresses the misunderstandings, and restores balance to the troupe’s dynamics. In the final moments, he helps Subru and Rohini reconnect, ensuring their relationship endures.
