Richardson's illustrious career features nominations for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for 'Damage' and the Academy Award for Best Actress for 'Tom & Viv'. As a testament to her skills, she has bagged the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Damage and won two Golden Globe Awards for Enchanted April and the television film Fatherland. Moving beyond her film and television career, Richardson has taken notable roles in theatre. A graduate from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, she found fame for her performances in West End and boasts an Olivier Award nomination. Her first step into the film world presented her with the role of Ruth Ellis in 'Dance with a Stranger'.
