Miguel Ángel Solá Vehil, born May 14, 1950, is a renowned Argentine actor known for making over 60 film appearances in Argentina's film and TV industry since 1973. Traditionally, Solá is considered a revered villain character. Born in Buenos Aires, Solá comes from the Vehil's dynasty of actors, originating from Catalonia. His acting career commences on television in 1973, debuting in film with Más allá del sol in 1975. His foray into theater began around 1971, with his defining role in Peter Shaffer’s ‘Equus’ along with Duilio Marzio in 1976. His notable roles include The Elephant Man, Deathtrap, and Jean Cocteau’s The Two-Headed Eagle. By the 1980s, his resume included major film roles in Asesinato en el senado de la nación (1984), Sur (1987), and A dos aguas (1988). He’s best known in biopic Casas de fuego (1995), portraying the famed doctor and epidemiologist Salvador Mazza from the 1920s. His later works include La Fuga (2001), The Impatient Alchemist (2000), La puta y la ballena (2004), and Arizona Sur (2004). Spanish actress Blanca Oteyza and Solá tied the knot in 1996, and the couple was blessed with two daughters. He relocated to Spain, where he successfully established his career in theater, film and television. Unfortunately, he sustained nearly crippling injuries in November 2006 during a vacation on the Canary Islands, taking two months to recover. In 2011, after Solá and Oteyza got separated, he returned to Argentina, where he continued his work in television and the theater.
