Geraldine Sue Page (November 22, 1924 – June 13, 1987) was a prolific American actress whose notable career spanned over four decades across film, stage, and television. Her incredible prowess in acting led to her receiving numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards. Additionally, she was nominated for four Tony Awards. Her impactful performance in The Trip to Bountiful (1985) won her the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Born in Kirksville, Missouri, Page's education at the Art Institute of Chicago and intensive training with stalwarts like Uta Hagen and Lee Strasberg in New York City shaped her into a refined artist. Her film roles were diverse, from being a sweet Alice in 'What Ever Happened to Aunt Alice?' (1969), to playing a nun in 'The Rescuers' (1977). Page's robust theater work includes her Broadway debut in the 1953 play Mid-summer and multiple Tony Award nominations. Her dedication to stage acting was recognized by her induction into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1979. Also, her exceptional performance in Truman Capote's 'A Christmas Memory' (1967) and 'The Thanksgiving Visitor' (1969) bagged her two consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards.

Beyond her screen/career achievements, Page had a rich personal life. Being married to Alexander Schneider and later Rip Torn with whom she had three children including Angelica Page.
