Amidst the tensions and uncertainties leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor, this drama explores the personal struggles of soldiers stationed in Hawaii. Private Robert E. Lee Prewitt's refusal to box professionally leads to conflict with his commanding officer, Sergeant Milton Warden. Simultaneously, Warden is embroiled in a secret affair with Karen Holmes, the wife of Captain Holmes. Prewitt finds solace in a romance with Lorene, but their relationship is complicated by the dangerous web of secrets and loyalties within G Company.
