Frances Louise McDormand, born as Cynthia Ann Smith on June 23, 1957, is a celebrated figure in the American film industry, known for both her work in front of the camera as an actress and behind the scenes as a producer. Her illustrious career, thriving across more than four decades, has been marked by noteworthy roles in small-budget independent films.
