Fiona Shaw, CBE (born as Fiona Mary Wilson on the 10th of July, 1958), is a highly esteemed Irish film and theatre actress. Shaw has delivered phenomenal performances spanning both screen and stage. She began her acting career in 1983 and quickly established herself as an extraordinary talent. Her extensive work includes performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, and appearing in various film and television roles. She made an international impact as Petunia Dursley in the globally loved Harry Potter film series from 2001–2010. Some of her other notable film roles include her performances in My Left Foot (1989), Persuasion (1995), Jane Eyre (1996), The Tree of Life (2011), Colette (2018), Ammonite (2020), and Enola Holmes (2020). When it comes to television, she netted critical acclaim for her roles such as Hedda Hopper in RKO 281 (1999), Marnie Stonebrook in True Blood (2011), and Carolyn Martens in the BBC series Killing Eve (2018–22). Her spectacular performance in Killing Eve earned her the 2019 BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations. In 2020, she was listed at No. 29 on The Irish Times' list of Ireland's greatest film actors, a testament to her immense talent and contribution.
