Super Mario Bros. 1993

As the echoes of a catastrophic meteorite strike resonate through the ages—65 million years in the past—the very fabric of space-time was irrevocably altered, creating two parallel dimensions. In this newly forged reality, surviving dinosaurs evolved, leading to the rise of a unique humanoid civilization known as Dinohattan. Fast forward to 1973, where an orphanage in Brooklyn unexpectedly becomes the guardian of a peculiar egg, which soon gives birth to a tiny human girl.

Jumping ahead two decades, we meet the Mario brothers, Mario and Luigi, who scrape by as plumbers on the lively streets of Brooklyn. Their humble livelihood faces a grave threat from the ruthless construction mogul Anthony Scapelli, whose unscrupulous business practices endanger their existence. Amid this turmoil, Luigi encounters Daisy, an NYU archaeology student passionate about unearthing dinosaur fossils beneath the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Their meeting coincides with a sabotage incident orchestrated by Scapelli’s henchmen, Iggy and Spike, triggering a series of events that ultimately pull the Mario brothers into a bewildering adventure across dimensions.

Navigating through a maze of challenges, the brothers find themselves sprinting through an ancient portal, which leads them to the enigmatic city of Dinohattan. Their mission to rescue Daisy takes an unexpected twist when they become separated from her and lose the coveted rock, which is snatched away by Big Bertha, the fierce bouncer at the Boom-Boom Bar.

In Dinohattan, Daisy gradually discovers her royal lineage, realizing she is the descendant of the long-lost rulers of this captivating realm. Her mother, the queen, had fled with young Daisy from Brooklyn, but tragedy struck when the portal closed, sealing their fates. Meanwhile, Iggy and Spike, unaware of the significance of their blunder, reveal that Daisy’s rock is a critical piece needed to unite the worlds, and only she can bridge the cosmic divide due to her noble bloodline.

As the plot thickens, Mario and Luigi find themselves in a desperate race against time to rescue their loved ones with assistance from an unexpected ally—Toad, a once-gentle guitarist turned Goomba after rebelling against King Koopa’s tyranny. Adding to the stakes is Yoshi, Daisy’s devoted pet, who has been scheming from behind the scenes to challenge Koopa’s oppressive regime.

While Luigi braves perilous terrains to save Daisy, Mario embarks on his own audacious path to free Daniella and the other girls unjustly captured. On the other hand, Koopa’s jealous girlfriend Lena, filled with spite for Daisy, hatches multiple plots against her but inadvertently gives Koopa a chance to consolidate power by obtaining the ancient rock. However, her ambition backfires, resulting in her own petrification. Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, Koopa mobilizes his henchmen and transforms Scapelli into a primate to assist in his sinister takeover, but Mario, ever the strategist, outmaneuvers him using a magical mushroom that protects him from devolution.

In a display of valor, Luigi and Daisy unite to reclaim the precious meteorite fragment, successfully reopening the connection between their worlds. With their mission complete, the Mario brothers arm themselves with advanced technology—devolution guns that can reverse Koopa’s dark spells. The ultimate showdown brings Koopa face to face with the consequences of his actions, transforming him into a grotesque, primeval creature reflecting his true nature.

After their resounding victory, Daisy’s father regains his rightful throne, and the citizens celebrate the liberation by erasing any remnants of Koopa’s reign. With a heavy heart, Daisy decides to remain in Dinohattan, bidding an emotional farewell to Luigi, while opening a portal for Mario to return home.

Fast forward three weeks, the Mario brothers are hailed as heroes, basking in the glory of their recent adventures. It is then that Daisy surprises them with an ambitious proposal for yet another thrilling escapade, her eyes gleaming with excitement and determination as she invites Mario and Luigi to join her on a journey that promises untold adventures and boundless possibilities.
