Dorothy Lamour was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S. in 1914. Credited on films since 1936, as an actor. The background, training and the roles that shaped the career.

Dorothy Lamour, born Mary Leta Dorothy Slaton, was an American actress and singer best known for her appearances in the Road to... movies, a series of successful comedies starring Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. Lamour began her career in the 1930s as a big band singer. By 1936, she moved to Hollywood and signed with Paramount Pictures. Her performance as Ulah in The Jungle Princess brought her fame. Her career began to wane in the 1950s, but she continued to focus on stage and television work. By 1987, she made her final movie appearance. Lamour was a staple figure in the film industry for over six decades, demonstrating her dedication and commitment to her craft. Despite her declining screen career, Lamour revived her nightclub act and released her autobiography, My Side of the Road, in 1980. Lamour was married to her second husband, William Ross Howard III, and they had two sons. She passed away in her home at the age of 81.
