Agnishwar Roy is a DSP with a steel heart and an unwavering sense of duty. Known by many as the “Baap (father) of all the criminals,” he believes in giving every offender a chance at redemption, even as his steadfast methods push him toward transfers. His reputation for an unyielding approach earns him a string of moves, and after his twenty-fifth transfer, he ends up at the Uttarpara police station. His wife, Sandhya Roy, stands by him and does not view his stern demeanor as a flaw, offering quiet support for the life they share.

In the Keyatola area of Uttarpara lives Surjo, a locally respected but enigmatic figure who avoids the hallmarks of typical gangsters while still wielding considerable influence. Despite the wary warnings of others, Agnishwar encounters this elusive man, and their proximity sparks tension. Surjo warns that if Agnishwar crosses into Keyatola, trouble will follow, setting the stage for a tense cat-and-mouse dynamic between lawman and local power.

Agnishwar is drawn into Keyatola when a confrontation erupts, yet he cannot arrest Surjo then because his own duties pull him toward his ailing wife. The strain between duty and personal obligations intensifies as he moves between the demands of the precinct and the needs of family, underscoring the personal cost of his crusade against crime.

The peace of the community is shattered when Meena, the daughter of the respected local teacher Master Moshai, is brutally gang-raped and left for dead after attending a college function with her friend Barsha. The cruelty of the assault sends shockwaves through the neighborhood and draws in powerful figures. Ranjit Saha, the younger brother of the local MLA Joy Chand Saha, abducts Meena and Barsha, though Barsha manages to escape this fate. Surjo learns of the assault and attacks Ranjit at his home; his bodyguards summon the police, and Surjo is detained, highlighting the harsh realities faced by both the community and the individuals trying to maintain order.

Agnishwar, seeking answers, learns from Surjo why Ranjit was targeted. The case advances as Ranjit is arrested and Barsha agrees to testify in court, turning the spotlight on the political machine behind the crime. In response, MLA Saha seeks revenge, dispatching his henchman Kallu to eliminate Agnishwar’s pregnant wife, Sandhya, during a market engagement. The attack nearly succeeds, but Surjo witnesses the assault and intercedes, adding another layer to the web of consequences.

Grateful for Surjo’s intervention and increasingly aware of the circumstances that shaped Surjo into a career criminal, Agnishwar recognizes a shared thread of tragedy and ambition between them. The political forces behind the arrest and the murder of Sandhya push Agnishwar toward a relentless path of retaliation. He begins a calculated campaign to dismantle the networks responsible for his imprisonment and the attack on his wife, a campaign that ultimately leads to a dramatic confrontation: the MLA is killed, and Agnishwar dies as well, at the hands of Surjo, who has by then become a police officer. The story closes on a somber note, weaving themes of revenge, justice, and the person one becomes when pushed to the edge.
