Kishan Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, grows up as an orphan who learns to stand on his own through hard work and resilience, while his childhood friend Bishan, Amjad Khan, comes from a comfortable and affluent background. Their bond is incredibly strong, a source of unwavering loyalty that also becomes a thorn in the side of Bishan’s maternal uncle—the scheming guardian of the family wealth. This uncle, intent on grabbing his sister’s fortune, uses a calculated ruse to drive a wedge between the two friends: he orchestrates Bishan’s removal to the city and eventually abroad for education, hoping the separation will end their closeness.

Years pass, and the two former allies meet again in a city where Bishan has transformed into a successful businessman with a clear plan to lift his friend up. Bishan decides to promote Kishan’s singing talent and asks Komal, Neetu Singh, to groom Kishan into a polished performer and a true gentleman. At first, Kishan resists the process, testing the boundaries of cooperation and trying to disrupt the plan with his stubborn streak, but the opportunity to share his voice and rise in the world begins to grow on him.

Meanwhile, a painful truth emerges about the family wealth. The uncle, along with his son, has looted the family fortune for eighteen long years, forcing Bishan to borrow and mortgage whatever assets remain to ensure Kishan’s ascent as a star. This heavy financial burden strains Bishan’s marriage to Sheela and threatens the fragile balance of their family dynamics. Yet Kishan’s debut concert turns into a turning point: the performance is a resounding success, and he generously donates the proceeds and the ensuing record deals to help Bishan relieve the mortgages and to support reconciliation with Sheela and the beloved nephew—Bishan’s ten-year-old son.

As Kishan rises, Komal’s affection for him deepens, adding a romantic undercurrent to the story. But the path to happiness is blocked by treachery: Bishan’s uncle and cousin trap him once again, kidnapping him along with several child hostages aboard his shipping vessel, subjecting him to torture, and forcing him to sign a confession that claims responsibility for crimes he did not commit. The ordeal shakes Bishan to the core, driving him to a state of mental strain and eventual amnesia, and he is placed in an asylum.

Determined to save his beleaguered friend, Kishan devises a daring plan. He pretends to be mentally unwell and gains admission to the asylum, where he works to restore Bishan’s memory. A pivotal moment comes when Kishan, in a gesture steeped in shared childhood memory, feeds Bishan rotis to revive the old bond and unlock the memories that the trauma had locked away.

In the climactic showdown, the two friends confront the gang in a sequence marked by explosions, courage, and relentless combat as they battle wave after wave of assailants. They fight side by side to rescue the hostages, protect the innocent, and dismantle the murderous plot. In the end, the children are saved, the family is brought back together, and the mastermind behind the scheme is sent to prison, restoring a fragile but hopeful peace to everyone who believed in their friendship.
