Shankar Mithun Chakraborty is an honest police officer whose outward sternness masks a generous loyalty at home. He is strict with the world, but at home he shows leniency to his younger brother Jai Saif Ali Khan, a carefree, good-humored man who soon falls for Neeru Sweta. A group of five criminals—Prem Chopra, Gulshan Grover, and Puneet Issar, along with Amrit Pal and Sheila—hatch a bank robbery, and Jai becomes an easy mark, blamed for the crime and forced to run. Officially, Shankar is put in charge of bringing Jai in at any cost, and he pursues the case with determination, even as his personal loyalties tug at him.
